Why is car insurance needed? Who remembers your first car?
« on: July 14, 2017, 01:22:16 PM »
Why do people have to have car insurance?
      Who remembers your first car?

What car did you buy?  What car was your first car?
Was it a good or great experience?

My car was a Pontiac Astra which equates to a Vega with an alumiumn block and used so much oil to run it.  Smiles.

my first car was a yellow 1979 Toyota Corolla. It is a good idea to carry auto insurance in case you have an accident and hurt a person or another automobile or someones property.. and vice versa, good to have if someone hits you....better safe than sorry

The hope is that your auto insurance is never needed, but that's also the same hope you have when the blackjack dealer is showing an ace.  Does it always pay off? no, but it's there when you need it.  The biggest problem in the industry is education.  People simply don't know what they have and then get mad at the insurance company when they won't pay for you totaling your car when you hit a tree.

Remember when you said take off all that extra coverage,  I don't need that.  I want it as low as you can get it?  Remember when I told you " I recommend you carry this level of coverage for these reasons." and you still said no?

You don't always need to have every coverage maxed out, but you do need to understand what levels of coverage you need to adequately protect yourself and your assets.

Most, if not all auto insurance companies break down your coverage and explain it to you and what it covers.  The coverage explanations are on their websites, available form a licensed agent (usually over the phone) or just online.  There are too many x factors out there for insurance not to be necessary.  Heck, insurance companies even carry insurance and have methods in place to pay out even if they become insolvent.

So, I would say yes, its's always needed and it falls on the consumer to know what they need OR to know when they don't know and to let a licensed agent tell them what they need (most agents/insurance companies will even give you a few choices).

Oh and my first car was a blue 87 Ford Mustang, 4 cylinder!
